Traditionally seen as merely administrative support, the position has transformed to encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including communication management, event planning, and data analysis. In Zone 1, as in many parts of the world, secretaries have adapted to these changes, becoming integral to business operations.
Guatemala, a Central American country, has faced various social and economic challenges. Zone 1, being one of the primary urban areas, is home to a diverse population. Lately, discussions around the topic of "putas secretarias" (which translates to "secretarial prostitutes" or "escort girls") have gained attention. This article aims to provide an informative overview of the situation, exploring public perception, reality, and related concerns.
Before we proceed, it's essential to clarify the meaning of "putas secretarias." In some Latin American countries, including Guatemala, the term "puta" can be used as a colloquialism for "prostitute" or " escort." However, in other contexts, it may simply mean "secretary" or "assistant." For the purpose of this article, we'll focus on the latter interpretation, exploring the availability of secretarial services in Zone 1.
